Aylesbury sits about 60 km north of Moose Jaw, in the Rural Municipality of Craik No. 222. It was named after Aylesbury, a town in Buckinghamshire, England. A Parrish & Heimbecker grain elevator went up in 1906, and the village incorporated on March 31, 1910. The elevator was the last one to operate in Aylesbury, working until the mid-1990s, and it was demolished in October 2009.
